Show AGED WOMAN DIES FROM SUFFOCATION Salt Lake, Dec 9 Alone and helpless help-less being 85 years old and a cripple. Mrs. H. E. Williams, who had lived for several months in basement rooms at 602 East Second South street, was found dead yesterday morning, death evidently resulting from suffocation. The body was fuund by Harold Hannibal, Han-nibal, a son of Mrs. Sophia Hannibal, .landlady of the house, who came 10 visit his mother The latter had remarked re-marked to her son that she smelled smokf coming up from the lower floor last Saturday nUht, since which time she had not seen Mrs. Williams about the premises. Mrs. Hannibal, herself her-self more than 90 years old. had not been able to descend the stairs to investigate. i Young Hannibal notified the police and Detectives George Cleveland and Carl Carstensen investigated. They found a mass of charred papers and magazines on the floor of the kitchen In their opinion, the papers had caughr fire and filled the house with smoke All doors and windows were tightly closed, which condition doubtless prevented pre-vented the houso from being burned. The body of the dead woman was remo ed to the Evans undertaking establishment. es-tablishment. A son, A. J.
