HENRY PETERSON IS TO LEAVE TOE j HIGH SCHOOL lis Principal Henry Peterson of the Ogden high school laat night tendered Mb resignation to the board of edu-cation edu-cation at its regular meeting. The resignation came through a lotter, presented to the board by Superintendent Superin-tendent John. M. Mills, as follows: "My Dear Superintendent Mills It Is incumbent on me to Inform you at thiB the oarliest possible time that I am not open to engagement In the Ogden school system for the next year, having accepted another posl- I"I take this opportunity to express my hearty appreciation of the cordial relations that have oxlsted between us and for the support that you and the board of education have given me. , ..-m "I la not for higher salary that I S leave. No official action was taken on the resignation of Principal Peterson, hut some of the board members, after the meeting, said that they regretted verv much the nepeasity of IoBing him from the local school system. Superintendent Su-perintendent Mills spoke of the f friendly relations that had existed - I between the principal and the board ; I of education and also between him L iimiiii and Mr. Peterson, but ho realized that tho educator desired a field In which his planB could be better carried out. Prcsldont PIngree stated that he considered Mr. Peterson one of the best high school principals that could bo secured. Professor Honry Peterson has been In Ogden since September, 1912, and came here from Box Elder vcounty, where he was superintendent of schools for several years. |
