I munity. There was nothing for Mr, Petcr- j to do, other thah resign, when he Y discovered that he was meeting with j vigorous opposition. Realizing that to persist would tend to demoralize j ? the high school, the principal yleld- ;, cd, and -that action Is to his credit. , As a man, Henry Peterson is above '-' reproach. He is a strong character, ; jf but as a principal he has had- his shortcomings, one or which was lack f jil of discipline and another his adher- jijj ence to the half-day plan and the ff elective system. II Mr. Peterson goes to the Jordan ? t high school at Sandy, where, no t doubt, being free to put in force his views, he will introduce both the jf elective system and the half-day. IC iT he is successful, the Standard will be among the first to, acknowledge j his achievements, t But at present, we feel that it is well that the ex- $ periment Is to be tried out on the 'i children of Sandy and not of Ogden. |
