Pacific railways, authorities today will attempt to gain some light, on the motives and identity of. the four men who yesterday killed Arthur Fisher, an engineer, and wounded several sev-eral other men near Manlius, 111. The proceedings will be in the form of an inquest over the body of one of the robbers who died last night at Spring Valley whither he was taken after being wounded by a posse of farmers and deputies. Thus far efforts to get the other three men to talk or to obtain information infor-mation concerning them from laborers labor-ers in railroad construction camps at. Manlius, Langley and Sheffield, have met with failure. The culprits are thought to be Mexicans, as several score of that nationality have been working in the camps, but questioning question-ing of these workmen has brought no information and the three prisoners' silence has been unbroken. A dozen Mexican laborers have been rounded up by the county authorities au-thorities and detained in jail at Princeton as witnesses. (in |
