TOLTON KNOCKS THE PERSIMMON Beaver county's representative, J. F. Tolton, of Beaver, has been chosen the Democratic caucus nominee nom-inee for the important position of speaker of the house. Before he was elected as the caucus nominee Mr. Tolton was subjected to a cross examination as to his so-called progressiveness. He declared himself him-self in favor of the state wide prohibition measure, the public utilities bill, and the initiative and referendum, refer-endum, and added that he was in favor of every plank in the Democratic state platform. Mr. Tolton is also chairman of the committee on committees which is to pick the twenty-nine committees of the house.
