Show House Republican leader Rhodes to keynote Republican Convention executive committee members unable to attend meetings. Senator E. J. 'Jake' Garn will introduce Congressman Rhodes, who is scheduled to speak at 12 noon. House Republican Leader Rhodes is considered by the Washington Post to be "one of the most influential politicians in America." Me is the first Republican ever to be elected to the House of Representatives from the State of Arizona and his 12-term tenure is unprecedented in the history of the state. The former Lt. Colonel served for nearly five years in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and has earned degrees at Kansas State University and the Harvard Law School. His election elec-tion as House Minority Leader was unanimous in both his first and current terms. He and Mrs. Rhodes reside in Mesa, Arizona with four children.
