Show Wiebe, Whaley exchange nuptial vows T c 1 - 4 I ' I i ' J j y V J Background music during the reception was played by Misses Jill Anderson and Debbie Ash-down Ash-down interspersed with special solos sung by Mrs. Evelyn Peterson. Included in her repertoir was "Tammy" sung especially for the bride. The beautiful three-layered cake featured a fresh bouquet of pink roses on top of the second layer with pink rosebuds cascading down the cake onto the mirrored table. The cake was topped with three large wedding bells amidst babies breath and a touch of pale blue netting. The cake top and the knife used to cut the cake were the same ones used by the bride's mother and her sister. Special guests included Mr. Walter G. Lunt, Mr. and Mrs. H.' P. Dotson; Mrs. Mary Whaley and daughters, Mary Ellen and Tami of Indianapolis; Mrs. Robert (Margie) Lee, Henderson, Hen-derson, Nev.; Mrs. Peter (Carmen) Wise and children, April and Randle, Henderson; Mr. Austin L. Merryweather, Santa Monica, Calif.; Mrs. Verl Kelsy, New Harmony; Mrs. Deon Kelsey; and Mr. Gary Stegolde, Atlanta, Georgia. The bride chose an off-white pantsuit with blue and white accessories for her going away costume. The newlyweds spent four days honeymooning enroute to Indianapolis In-dianapolis and then on to Atlanta, Georgia where Mr. Whaley is serving in the U. S. Army Intelligence. Prior to the wedding the bride was honored at a personal shower given by Jil Nielson, Jan Webster and Lisa Wade. A kitchen kit-chen shower was hosted by Mrs. H. P. Dotson and Mrs. Michael (Cindy) Hosmer. The bride" graduated from Cedar High this spring and the bridegroom graduated from Cedar High in 1973. MR. AND MRS. WILLIAM O. WHALEY Miss Tanera Jo Wiebe became the bride of William 0. Whaley in a double ring ceremony May 28. In a beautiful garden setting surrounded by fresh flowers, and Mrs. York (Evelyn) Jones accompanied Mrs. Peterson and played the wedding march. Maid of honor was Miss Jill Wilson and the bridesmaids were Misses Jan Webster, Lisa Wade; Karen Wiebe. Miss Mary Anne Wiebe was flower girl. The attendants at-tendants wore long white polyester dresses splashed with large pink flowers which featured sweetheart necklines and large short puffed sleeves. Mitchell Lunt of the 9th Ward Bishopric officiated. The Enchanted En-chanted Gardens was also the setting for the reception which followed the wedding. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Marvin G. Wiebe, 414 S. 700 W; and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. William O. Whaley of Indianapolis, In-dianapolis, Ind. The bride wore a gown of bonded crepe which featured a high neckline and long full sleeves with deep cuffs. The ruffle on the skirt culminated into a full chapel train. Ap-pliqued Ap-pliqued crewel embroidery added acdents to the bodice, sleeves and down the front of the skirt. A half-cap edged with crewel embroidery held the finger-tip veil. She carried a large white orchid surrounded by pink and white rosebuds and baby breath and rosebuds falling into two long cascades. For "something old" the bride wore pearl earrings that had been worn by her great-grandmother, her mother, and her sister on their wedding days. The wedding was a "family affair" with everyone who participated being related to the bride. The prayer was given by an Uncle, Austin L. Merryweather. A cousin, Mrs. Dennis (Evelyn) Peterson sang, They, carried lace-trimmed baskets of pink roses and white carnations with baby's breath. Best man was Greg Aldred and the ushering was done by Deon Kelsey, Mike Aldred, and Donnie Aldred. Kent -Wiebe was ring bearer. The mothers of the bridal pair and the grandmother of the bride, Mrs. Mary Anne Lunt Montgomery wore mint green polyester shirtwaist dresses featuring long sleeves. A sheer sleeveless print vest of light blue, white and mint added delightful accents to the costumes. Each lady had a corsage of pink rosebuds and white carnations. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dotson, a great aunt and uncle of the bride, acted as host and hostess for the reception while Misses Beth Harris and Jan Thorley attended the guest book under an arch covered with fresh spring flowers. Mrs. Robert (Margie) Lee and Mrs. Peter (Carmen) Wise, aunts of the bride, were in charge of the gifts. |
