Show Three - way battle develops in Senior Little League baseball Cedar City Senior Little League baseball leage has developed into a tight three-way battle for first place honors. Utah International and California Pacific hold a slight edge over Ace Hardware, but, only because they have played more games. All three have single losses on their records. California Pacific 7, Corry's Real Estate 1: Kary Cox hurled this victory giving up just two hits. Those hits were put together by Jack, who stole second and came on to score on a single by Imlay. Garrett was the losing pitcher. CPU had three doubles in the contest hit by Kendall Smith, a Nakken and Neilson. Del Rich 8, Parowan 1 : Hulet and Ramsey combined on the mound to give up only two hitrs in the contest. Stones suffered I the loss for Parowan. A single by ! Evans in the sixth drove in the i only Parowan run. Sutherland of Del Rich had a double. The game was scoreless through four innings in-nings but Del Rich pushed in five in the fifth and added three insurance in-surance runs in the sixth. Ace Hardware 9, State Bank 1 : Kevin Robinson was on the mound for the win giving up two hits. He also had his team's only extra base hit, a double. Prestwich and larsen shared mound duty for the losers. The sole State Bank run came in the (fourth when Shaffer walked, stole second and scored on a single by DeMille. Saturday afternoon Canyonland defeated TWA 14-4 in a makeup game. Kevin Soderquist was the winning pitcher. Canyonlands had a big fourth inning scoring 6 runs on three hits then added seven runs on four hits in the fifth. Middleton and Whitney were on the mound for the losers. Three of the TWA runs came in the fourth where the big hit was a double by Woolsey. California Pacific 19, TWA 1: David Middleton was on the mound f&r the victory and he gave up only one hit. Top hitters for the victors were Kendall Smith with 4 for 5; Kary Cox, 3 for 4 and Middleton with a triple to his credit. J. Middleton of TWA was the loser. Only hit for TWA was by Woolsey and TWA scored their only run on an error in the third frame. Utah International 17, State Bank 1. Craig Jensen and Charles Judd combined on the mound to give up only one hit in the victory. Both of the pitchers belted doubles and Eric Chamberlain added a triple for the only extra base hits. Brad Larson and Sheffer were on the mound for State Bank. The State Bank run came on four walks in the third frame. Canyonlands 8, Corry Real Estate 1: Kevin Soderquist gave up only two hits in pitching this victory. Canyonlands had a double by Witney in the big third inning that produced 7 of the 8 runs. Imlay was the loser despite the fact that he gave up only two hits. Gary Jack doubled for the only extra base hit for Corry's. TWA 9, Del Rich 7: TWA scored a come from behind victory in this game with Whitney picking up the mound victory. Oscar Hulet and Dave Corry were on the mound for the losers. Both clubs scored two runs in the first frame at the end of three Del Rich led 7-5 but TWA came back to push in four runs in the fifth on just two hits to capture the win. Utah International 18, Parowan 1: Rick Evans hurled a no hitter in this contest with Parowan's only run coming in the fifth on two walks, a hit batter and a walk.
