Show Spilsbury - Graff chase leaders in American League Carter Brothers walked off with honors in the first half of play in the Cedar American Little League baseball race, but they are being challenged for the second half lead. Carter Bros, lost only one game in the first half of play to finish well ahead of Coleman who wound up the first half of play with a 5 win three loss record. Here are the unofficial stan- the pitching chores throughout the six innings of play and belted a pair of home runs, back to back efforts. For Coleman they sent Mark Bryant and Ben Whitney to the mound. Coleman was held to just four hits in the contest, all singles. Spilsbury -Graff 10, Kiwanis 8: Spilsbury -fGraff outlasted the Kiwanians in this contest. Sharing the mound honors for the win, only the second of the season for the mortuary Crew, were John Hulet and Mike Lieshman. Aiding in the victory was Doug Nelson with a home run. For Kiwanis they sent Dennis Harris, Bret Murie and Todd Jones to the mound. Murie also homered in a losing effort. Carter Bros. 11, Coleman 4: Jim Bulloch picked up the mound victory for Carter Bros. Henry Brunson and Cary Chamberlain homered while Cory Neilson picked up four hits in four trips including a double. Gary Alger was on the mound for Coleman. He homered driving in three runs in the third, but it was not enough. Rotary 14, Kiwanis 4: Danny Bulloch was the pitcher for this victory. Leading hitter for the victors was Kevin Soderquist with a single, double, triple and walk in four trips to the plate. For Kiwanis Todd Jones suffered the loss. Both Carter and Spilsbury Graff have two wins to their credit after the first week of play.
