Show Parowan plans 4th of July events Parowans Independence Day Celebration will get off to a rousing start with the usual day break salute and continue on through the day with a full round of activities to be climaxed in the evening with a colorful fireworks display. Beginning at 7 a.m. and going until 10, the Parowan First Ward will serve an old fashioned chuck wagon breakfast on the lawn just east of the chapel. They invite everyone to come out and enjoy this early morning treat prices will be $2.00 for everyone over 12, $1.00 for children 6 through 11, age 5 and under free or $8.00 for a family. At nine-thirty nine-thirty the parade will be held on main street. All businesses, clubs, neighborhoods and individuals in-dividuals are invited to enter floats in the parade using the Bicentennial Bi-centennial as a theme. Prizes will be given with $50 for 1st, $35 for second and $25 for third I place. j Chosen this year to represent ! Uncle Sam and the Goddess of Liberty will be Brad Robinson and Ava Adams. Brad is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Robinson and Ava is the daughter of Mrs. H. LeRoy Adams. They will ride in the parade on a float built especially for them by Parowan City. Immediately following the parade the Parowan Fireman's Club will hold sports and games for all ages on the city park. Treats will be furnished for t" ' everyone and there will be concession stands with goodies for everyone. At 11:30 a Public Meeting will be held in the Parowan 3rd Ward Chapel with the American Legion in charge of this. Uncle Sam and the Goddess of Liberty will be featured speakers in this program. The afternoon activities will be held at the Parowan Race Track where the Red Hill Wranglers will stage one of their outstanding out-standing shows. And the Grand Finale of the day will be the fireworks display at the race track in the evening.
