Show County Peace Officers complete Service Training with Thomas C. Jackson and George L. Williams as partaking officers. The training program is designed to increase their abilities in skills and proficiency as peace officers in Utah. Many of the training sessions peace officers completed were done on voluntary time, some of which went towards college credit. Some of the more specialized training classes held included seminars on the new state criminal code, aspects of transient tran-sient crime prevention, officers survival, cattle rustling, civil liabiltiy, and juvenile specialist training. The Iron County Sheriff's Office, the Cedar Police Department and the Parowan Police Department were involved in-volved with the Utah State Peace Officers In Service Training Program during the past year. During that time the Cedar Police Dpartment trained a total of 746 hours. Participating officers of-ficers were: the Chief of Police, Douglas Bolton, Dennis Anderson, An-derson, Kenneth Blackner, Harold Bradley, Randy Clove, LeRoy Houchen, Vic Middleton, and Roger Williams. The Iron County Sheriff's Office completed a total of 452 training hours. Officers participating par-ticipating were: Sheriff Ira Schoppmann, Gordon Adams, Wayne Holt, Richard Payton, Kenneth B. Peay, and John R. Williams. Parowan's Police Department completed 124 training hours |
