In elections held Tuesday incumbent Gordon Slack was the top vote getter in the Cedar City election with a total of 1573 votes. Second leading vote getter was Jack Whiting, who garnered 1551 votes and Arlo Larson picked up 1414 votes in the election. For Whiting it was his first time as a candidate having been named to the council to fill an unexpired term of Robert Hansen. It is the second time that Slack and Larson have been elected to office. Democratic candidates vieing for the positions received light support in the municipal contest. Leading vote getter was Tom Challis with 839 with Harrv Perry collecting 619 votes. In the municipal election candidates do not vie against each other, but rather the top three vote getters are named to serve. In Parowan Results of elections in Parowan indicate that Frankie Lou Bentley, who was recently appointed to the Parowan City Council to fill an unexpired term, was the top vote getter. Mrs. Bentley, a Republican, garnered 469 votes. I Incumbent Roy Benson, Jr. was re-elected to a second term on the Council garnering 296 1 votes. A newcomer to the Parowan Council will be Gayle P. Wood, who collected 317 votes in the balloting. Both Benson and Wood are Republicans. Carlyle Johnson and Jay Graff, the Democratic candidates received 169 and 178 votes, respectively, and an independent candidate, Jim Pinkham garnered gar-nered 190 votes in the Parowan balloting. the Kanarraville Town Board, and again, traditional party lines were crossed. Winners were Republican Will'ard Batty with 54 and Democrat Leon Reeves with 50. Losing in that race were Republican Scott Berry with 35 and Jeff Prisbrey, a Democrat with 30. V Other Results I An interesting feature of this year's election in Iron County was the selection of a Town Board for Brian Head. It is the first time that they have balloted in that newly formed com-munit com-munit . Of a total of 87 registered voters 77 turned out for the municipal election to named Democrat Rex Enenegger as President w ith a toal of 55 voles. He outstriped Jonella Bonfede, a Republican, with 22 votes. Two four year and two two year board members were also named. For the four year terms Democrats Sandy Barnett and Dan VanSickle were elected with 45 and 35 votes, respectively. Close behind were Republican candidates Ann Goldstein with 33 and Ken Flemming with 26. In the two year race the balloting was split across party lines with Democrat Craig i Morrill the top vote getter with 44. In second place and elected to the board was Stephen Lutz, a Republican with 35. Republican Lawrence Cahill had 34, just one vote behind, and Democrat Robert Powell collected 32 votes. Enoch Names Officers In Enoch the election was strickly a write-in affair. No formal candidates were named and the two highest write-ins were elected to the town board. They are Dilworth Armstrong and Stanford Jones. In Paragonah two were elected to the Town Board. Results of the balloting in that community were as follows: Frank Dunton, 'Democrat 92; Ted Barton, Democrat 81; Sam Cutler, Republican 43 and Shirley Fortheringham, Republican 35.
