Georg's Ski Team captures prizes at Mt. Holly meet years and older, division. Georg is the coach of the team as well as an accomplished racer himself. His oldest son, Georg Jr., took first in the mogul contest, fourth in jumping and third combined in his division. Other members of the team, Robbie Hartlmaier, age 9, Dean Hy Steve I.utz Georg's Ski Team from Brian Head fared well in their first freestyle competition. The National Amatuer open Freestyle Championship held at Mt. Holly on March 9 and 10 provided an opportunity for Georg Hartlmaier and his pack of young daredevils to display their talents in events that they had been untested in previously. Georg Sr. placed first in the combined ratings in his, the 27 and Darrel Powell, ages 16 and 13, and Tim and Tom Burns, ages 12 and 8, all placed well in the top ten. Despite rocks and stumps showing on the race course, Hartlmaier said that he was well pleased with his team's showing at the meet and for the most part, the meet itself. He expects that the team will do even better on home ground during the Brian Head Spring Carnival. The carnival is to be held March 22 through the 30. |
