Members of the Utah Repertory Dance Theatre who will perform under the auspices of the Cedar City Music Arts Association on Wednesday, Apr. 2 at the Southern Utah State College Auditorium. Utah Repertory Dance Theatre to perform in Cedar April 2 m The Cedar City Music Arts Committee is proud to sponsor the vital and creative Utah Repertory Dance Theatre as the final performance of the season. This attractive and unique dance company will participate in a 2' 2 day residency program in the Iron County Schools as well as at SUSC. The evening performance for area residents is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2, at the SUSC auditorium. The Utah Repertory Dance Theatre is a unique and disciplined group of dancer choreographers who not only perform their own creative works but also teach modern dance techniques on college campuses and in public schools. RDT takes their dance experience ex-perience to communities ranging in size from Glenallen, Alaska with 325 people to New York City and most other major metropolitan areas of the country. Wherever RDT performs, critics acclaim the dancers' impeccable professionalism, refinement and self-assurance. While in residency at Hunter College, in the New York area, RDT received enthusiastic i( ,i. ws from The New York limes and Long Island Press, Jamaica, New York. The company, which was founded in 1966 with the assistance of the Rockefeller Foundation and the University of Utah, is now supported by a grant from the National En-. En-. dowment for the Arts, a Federal agency in Washington D. C. Area residents are invited to see this exciting dance company when they perform in Cedar City April 2. SUSC students will be admitted with their activity cards. Iron County school children will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Music Arts patrons will be admitted with their season ticket. Individual tickets will be sold at the door for $3.50. A ticket will be required for pre-school children. |
