Show PHS Rams open against Beavers I PAROWAN - Friday night at 8 p.m. the Parowan Rams 1 will meet Beaver at I Parowan opening Region 8 football action. Parowan has only beaten Beaver once in the last few years. Beaver ' should be one of the top I contenders for the Region 8 Title, under the direction of coach Al Marshall. This will also be the debut of first year ' head coach Jerry Dyer and i should prove to be quite a test of his coaching abilities. I The Parowan strong . points appear to be the of-' of-' fensive backfield with I strength and experience in Mike Robinson, Kim Bess, Mike Evans and Brent I Rowley. The defense will be ' anchored by Tony Moss, i Brad Fife and Gordon Gurr. Dyer indicated that Kim I Bess will probably miss Friday night's action because of a broken finger sustained in the Blue-Gold scrimmage held last Saturday night. Bright spots in the scrimmage were Mike Evans, Mike Robinson. Brent Rowley and Tony Moss who should give Beaver backs a frustrating night. -Some of the younger players with good potential are offensive center Roger Bentley, split receiver Richard Burton, defensive backs Mark Matheson and Brian Johnson and defensive end Royce Caster. Coach Dyer indicated that Clay Robinson is probably the toughest player pound for-pound. for-pound. The fans should expect a wide-open and exciting game. Everyone is urged to attend and support the Rams on their opening game. |
