Show 12th Warders run Colorado Twelve members of the Twelfth Ward and friends and relatives totaling 21 traveled to Cisco, Utah, 45 miles outside Green River to begin a trip down the Colorado River with the Holiday River Expedition. The excursion was organized by Monte and Beverly Nielson. Those participating included Raymond and Gaye Baker, Doug and Holly Urie, Dale and Carma Evans, Wilber and Marilyn Wilson, Kerry and Gretchen Jones, Jack and Jackie Sawyer, Ned and Dixie Gregerson, Maria Smith, Dr. John Emo, and Mel and Diane Wilkie and son Jess of Salt Lake City. After camping at a deserted restaurant in Cisco (pop. 13) the group were picked up and taken up river to the waiting; rafts. Two days were spent on the river enjoying beautiful scenery, swimming, floating through rapids, eating delicous food-prepared food-prepared by the boaters-exploring boaters-exploring a deserted miners cabin, and an outlaws cave and enjoying a lot of sun and water. "It was a trip everyone enjoyed and eager to return again," a spokesman stated. |
