Show Ronald Morten sen, dies in boating acciden p' "- '"SIT" V t'-" f T f v .7 ' 'v ' Funeral services for Ronald Mitchell Mortensen, 39, were held Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 3 p.m. in the Parowan Third Ward Chapel. Mortensen, a resident of Parowan, died August 20 in the Colorado River from drowning. The accident occured in the early afternoon af-ternoon approximately four miles below the Glen Canyon Dam. The accident occured when Ronald and his father, Ward Mortensen, were fishing and their boat capsized. Ronald was a lifetime resident of Parowan and owned and operated Mortensen Mor-tensen Electric, Inc. in Cedar City. Mortensen had teen an active member of the Lions Club and has been involved in many other civic and community affairs. He was a member of the Parowan LDS Second Ward Church. Morteasen was a member of the Cedar City Elks Lodge No. 1556 and was a strong supporter of the Parowan Little League and Senior League programs. Mortensen was born Sept. 21, 1937 in Parowan to Ward and Itha Mitchell Mortensen. Mor-tensen. He married Joan RONALD M. MORTENSEN Lamoreaux Aug. 27, 1955 in Paragonah. Survivors include his wife, Parowan; his parents, Parowan; two sons, Russell L, and Gordon L. both of Parowan and a sister, Mrs. Mel (Janet) Jones, also of Parowan. Interment was in the Parowan City Cemetery under the direction of the Spilsbury and Graff Mortuary. |
