Show Help Police protect YourHome "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," and with that in mind the Cedar City Police Department recently began the "Vacation Watch" Program, Cedar Police Chief Douglas Bolton has announced. Bolton said the new preventative crimestopper consists of city policement making at least two checks on a family's home while they are away-for any length of time. "We would like people to call us or visit us and let us know when they are leaving," Bolton said. "At this time we give them hints concerning lighting of the home and locks. "Then our officers will make two checks daily on the home and keep a log of all visits." A report, complete with times, days and the names of officers doing the checking will be given to the resident when they return from the vacation, Bolton added. "We think it is a good idea that will keep our burglaries low," Bolton said. |
