Show Rams Place 2nd Dtepitelnjuries PAROWAN - Coach Bob Tobler and his Parowan Rams cross-country team traveled to Junction Thursday for the Region 12 championships at Piute High School. The Rams, who have been winning all season long, had to settle for a second place finish after Lloyd Baker, the Rams second runner, was hit by an automobile and inured a week earlier while riding his motorcycle in Parowan. Coach Tobler had to move two of the JV team up to varsity as Baker and also Doug Hermansen were injured and could not compete. Those who ran made an extra effort and ran super but were unable to defeat a tough Piute team without their two starters. The Rams finsihed as follows: Scott Freeborn, third; Mike Webb, eighth; Wade Adams, tenth; Kelly Orton eleventh; Antone Stones, fifteenth. The sixth and seventh runners for the Rams were Jeff Stapley and Jeff Patterson. Pat-terson. Three teams will go to state on Thursday. Piute with 42 points placed first and will go to state. Parowan with 48 and Gunnison with 68 points will also take their teams to State. |
