CHS Orchestra Fall Concert Mrs. June Larsen and the students would like to invite their parents, relatives, friends, and neighbors to . come and enjoy an hour of good music with them on Sunday evening. The Cedar High School Orchestra will present a Fall Concert on Sunday, November 4 at 8 p.m. at the SUSC Recital Hall. The sixty-five piece orchestra or-chestra will play . the Overture to Prometheus by Beethoven, Vaclav Nelhybel's Nelhybel's arrangement of A Mighty Fortress Is Our God, the Polka from the Golden Age by Shostakovich, and. themes from the film, Rocky. The string section of the orchestra will play Peter Warlock's Capriol Suite. The CHS Country Fiddle group will also play a group of short numbers. Special guests of the High School group will be the Cedar Junior High School Executive Orchestra. They will play a suite for string orchestra by Telemann, and Percy Fletches's Folk Tune and Fiddle Dance. Eight violinists from the high school orchestra recently performed with the ,. All State Orchestra in Salt w , Lake, C,ity . during the U.E.A. Convetnion. Students auditon to win a place in the state orchestra and two of these, Cathy Mitchell and Jan Jolley, have earned this experience all three of their high school years. Other AH State violinists are Alyse Chidester, Mike Chidester, Leslie Peterson, Lori Morrell, Laura Searcy, and Suzanne Corry. |
