Show Rams End Season with Tiger Win PAPOWAN -The Parowan Rams finished their regional football season with an impressive come from behind victory over the Milford Tigers 12-6. The first half showed a determined Milford team taking the early lead with Laney Johnson bowling over tackle from three yards out. Milford went for the two point conversion but the pass fell incomplete. Parowan was plagued by penalties and a lackluster offense and defense. Milford moved the ball readily and blocked two Ram punts in the first half. The second half was a complete turn around for the Rams. The Ram defense held Milford to only two first downs the second half and completely stopped any Milford drive. The Ram offense caught fire the second half led by Mike Thornton who totaled 107 yards for the game. Dave Hulet ran in from one yard out for the first Ram score. The extra point was blocked and the score deadlocked at 6-6. The Rams drove to the Milford one yard line thanks to a blocked punt giving the Rams possession deep in Tiger territory. The drive was stopped by a procedure penalty. Mike Thornton scapered around right end midway in the fourth quarter to give the Rams a 12-6 lead. The extra point try was wide. The clock showed a final score of 12-6 as the final gun sounded. The Rams record was 2-6 for the season and 1-4 in Region 12 competition. |
