C. trip A y- , ''vir For the past decade, on alternate years, the SUSC students in drama have taken an east coast field study trip including in-cluding a week on Broadway, seeing the top Broadway performances, per-formances, meeting with stars, directors, playwrights and producers as well as spending four days in Washington D. C. visiting the various monuments, museums and seats of government. govern-ment. In the past, the students have had an opportunity to spend time with some of the nation's foremost illuminaries: John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard Nixon, Sam Rayburn, Mike Mansfield, Nelson Rockefeller, Julie Harris, Mary Martin, Christopher Plummer, Richard Burton, Julie Andrews, John Lindsay, Carol Channing and many more. "There is no theatre classroom in the world that can touch an evening on Broadway. The experiences ex-periences and exposures that these students obtain make this tour the most valuable experience ex-perience that we can give them," says Fred Adams, department chairman and trip organizer, The group will leave this year March 16 and again spend 14 days seeing the best of Broadway and Washington D. C. While in Washington, they will be hosted by Senator Ted Moss, as he has done for ten years. Funding for this trip is partially borne by the individual students with one-third one-third of the cost raised by the drama department as a whole with various projects such as the annual evening of melodramas, bake sales, car washes, and door-to-door egg sales. Mr. Adams adds, "We so deeply appreciate the citizens of Cedar City for each time they have gone the extra mile in helping us obtain the necessary money to make this trip possible for students who otherwise could never have such an opportunity." WASHINGTON TRIP. Drama department members from Southern Utah State College are shown at nation's capitol with Senator Frank E. Moss.
