Show Governor Ram pton, guest speaker at SUSC Student High Court A host of dignitaries, including Utah Governor Calvin L. Rampton, will visit Southern Utah State College February 9 for a luncheon and panel discussion dealing with politics, ethics and the legal system. The activities are being sponsored by the SUSC Student High Court in honor of ' the American Bicentennial and the U.S. Legal system. ', Governor Rampton will speak at a noon i luncheon scheduled to be held in the SUSC '; small ballroom. Rampton will speak on "Politics and the Legal System," according ac-cording to Bill Petersen, associate justice of the Student High Court. Following Governor Rampton's speech, a panel discussion will be held from 2-4 p.m. in the SUSC music recital hall. Panel moderator, J. Harlan Burns, Fifth District Judge, will lead the discussion on "Ethics and the Legal System.'.' Panel participants will include Robert Hansen, Utah Deputy Attorney General; Scott Matheson, Union Pacific Attorney; Hans Q. Chamberlain, Iron County Attorney; At-torney; Merrill L. Hermansen, Third District Juvenile Judge. Following the panel discussion a question and answer period will be opened for audience participation. "This is one of the major SUSC student bicentennial activities planned for the school year," Petersen said. "We are very pleased to have the Governor and distinguished panel members visiting SUSC and cordially invite the public to attend the meetings." Tickets for the banquet are $3 per person and are available at the SUSC student center. |
