Show M ACCEPTS AWARD. Brenda Gubler, president of Lambda Delta Sigma accepts the "Thunderbird Prestige Arrow from Royden C. Braithwaite, SUSC president. Award is present to organization making the most outstanding contribution to college during the fall quarter. LDS Sorority wins Arrow Lambda Delta Sigma is the first recipient of the new Thunderbird Prestige Arrow, which will be presented each quarter to the SUSC organization which makes the most outstanding out-standing contribution to the college. Presentation of the award to the winning organization was made during halftime of the SUSC-Westminster basketball game on Jan. 17 by Dr. Royden C. Braithwaite, SUSC president. Brenda' Gubler, Lambda Delta Sigma president, accepted the award for the group. A committee of student-faculty judges makes the selection on the basis of a group's contribution to the college and activities which benefit club members , as individuals. in-dividuals. The group academic average is also considered in the decision. Among activities sponsored by Lambda Delta Sigma fall quarter were decoration of the large and small ballrooms in the Student Center for the Christmas season; participation in the Nativity Scene; first attendant for Homecoming Queen; third place float in Homecoming Parade; "Mission Impossible" service project; booths at LDS Institute Fall Fair and Halloweeen party; Pixie Week and party with Sigma Gamma Chi; two pep rallies and posters for both; Scholarship Night; Spirituality Night; Sisterhood Night; Temple excursion. The group has maintained a collective average of 3.0 to 3.5. Arrows will be presented spring quarter for winter and spring quarter activities. A Thunderbird Prestige Spear will be given to the organization judged to be the most outstanding out-standing for the year. The special award is sponsored by SUSC Student Activities under ' the direction of R. Kenneth Benson. |
