Show Literary Club hold meeting PAROWAN - "Women of The Colonial Period" was the latest topic to be discussed at the Parowan Literary Club. Mrs. Alice Barton and Mrs. Gwen Jones were the lesson leaders for the evening. Mrs. Jones told the ladies about Mercy Warren, Martha Washington and Abigail Adams and the influence they had in the shaping of our precious country. Mrs. Barton then discussed Nancy Hart, Betty Zane, Phillis Wheatley and Mary Goddard and how their lives typified the patriotic spirit of their day. Mrs. Barton was charmingly dressed in a colonial fashioned dress. The club meeting was held at the lovely home of Mrs. Alice Mitchell, Mrs. Mitchell, Mrs. Nell Bentley and Mrs. Margaret Orton were hostesses for the evening. According to an announcement made by Mrs. Lael Dotson, president, the Valentine Club Party will be held at the home of Mrs. Verda Adams on February 4. |
