Show Cal-Pac outlines Improvements j scheduled for Southern Utah Area The Southern Utah Division I Manager for California-Pacific I Utilities, Company, Pete Paris, ; today announced the company I has budgeted $1,078,540 for capital improvements in the ! Division during 1976. I California-Pacific operates f electric distribution. ..utilities '! serving"'"the Cedar City and I Kanab areas as well as much of I Washington and Iron Counties in J Utah, and the Fredonia, Arizona area. I Budget highlights include: I Cedar City: $95,500 for a new J substation to serve the south part of town; $85,000 to increase the i capacity of the Enterprise Valley substation to accommodate growth in that area; and $24,500 for general improvements to the distribution system. More than $1.4 million in work begun last year will be completed in 1976; most of it is part of the Company's Com-pany's $2 million project to construct a new high-voltage line supplying power to the Southern Utah area. Kanab: $127,700 in general ,, improvements. . and , , the . com:. , pletion of $16,925 of work begun in 1975. Washington County: $211,900 in general improvements plus the completion of $26,394 in work begun last year. Fredonia: $49,400 in general improvements plus $3,609 to complete the street light project begun in 1975. At its last meeting, California-Pacific's California-Pacific's board of directors approved a capital budget totaling nearly $9.5 million for the company's utility operations during 1976. Of the amount budgeted, approximately $1.4 million is contingent on action to be taken by others such as private developers and state and local agencies. When the 1976 capital budget was approved, California-Pacific President Ross Workman stated this year's budget "is almost one-third less than last year's." He explained, "the 1976 capital budget represents a careful analysis of what we feel is needed to improve, the facilities and services for our customers. And it is an attempt on our part to hold costs down as much as we can so that we may keep our rates as low as possible."
