Show ON EXHIBIT.The works by Glen Dale Anderson will be on exhibit at the Braithwaite Fire Arts Gallery. Included will be "Riverwood," shown above. Glen Anderson displays ArtWork art education, i ne artist completed his master of fine arts degree at Utah State Unviersity in 1971. Prof. Anderson taught in public schools twelve years brfore'joining the Southern Utah State College faculty in 19(18. He has taught extension ex-tension and graduate courses in Utah, Nevada and Arizona. In 1973, he was awarded the Outstanding Art Teacher of the Year award by the Utah Art Teachers Association. He serves as an art juror, art education consultant and guest lecturer. The artist is concerned today about the value judgements spawned in an automated, technological materialistic, super-star society. "Duty requires that The Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery, Southern Utah State College, Cedar City, announced that an exhib-vition exhib-vition of recent works by Glen Dale Anderson will be on display February 22 to March 23, 1979. The exhibition will open with a public reception Thursday, February 22, 7 to 9 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Glen Dale Anderson is an associate professor of art and chairman of the Art Department at Southern Utah State College. He is a native of Manti, Utah, whre he went through the public schools. He attended at-tended Snow College and was later graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in we press on and stimulate all of those we touch with a broad range of understanding, un-derstanding, sensitivity, and cultural awareness. The creation of a work of beauty is possibly one of man's highest achievements. All individuals are capable of some expression in art with the assistance of greater knowledge and skill. Expression Ex-pression can become more meaningful if it supports clarity and orginality of thought," Prof. Anderson said. In conjunction with the Anderson Exhibition, Karen K. Gilg, a senior art ma jor at Southern Uah State College, will be showing her senior porfolio. Many of the works in both exhibitions are available for purchase. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays. |
