Show Farmers sign for Wheat Program 'These benefits include price support loans on all eligible commodities produced, deficiency and percent voluntary diversion at the option of the farmer. "Program participants help . increase farm prices and also help to prvent an excessive ex-cessive buildup of wheat and feed grain stocks," he stated. ASCS will accept applications ap-plications for the 1979 program until April 30. "Starting Feb. 15, we will begin accepting Intentions to Participate in the 1979 wheat and feed grain program," Darwin Hulet, Chairman of the Iron County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Con-servation (ASC) committee, said. All farmers planting feed grain and-or wheat for harvest in 1979 are eligible to participate if the farm has disaster payments for barley, corn, or wheat on the particiapting farm," Mr. Hulet explained. Farmers who participate are also eligible to use the grain reserve when it is open. The wheat and barley program contain a 20 percent per-cent set-aside requirement. Provisions of the corn program include a 10 percent per-cent set-aside and a 10 an established Normal Crop Acreage (NCA). As in 1978, program participation is voluntary. However, farmers far-mers must file their intentions in-tentions to participate during the sign-up period to be eligible for program benefits. |
