Rams grab Win over Tabiona PAROWAN - Parowan High School Rams traveled to Tabiona this past week " and came away with a " thrilling 76-75 victory by the Varsity. In addition the Junior Varsity also came away with a victory, 62-54. Tabiona took the early lead pouring in 22 points in the first quarter of play while holding the Rams to just 16, but in the second quarter the tables were turned as the Rams hit for 22 points and held a three point advantage at half, 38-35. Mike Thornton lead the second quarter scoring with eight points. The Rams, with good balanced scoring managed to increase their lead to five points at the end of the third quarter, 58-53, but then went into a controlled game to come away with the one point victory. Tabiona came " up with 22 points in the period with the Rams hitting for 18. The balance of the Rams paid off in the end with five members of the squad hitting hit-ting in double figures. Leading the scoring was Pat Benson with 15. He was followed by Thornton with 13, Richard Burton with 12 and Dan Robinson and Mike Jones, each with 10. Also contributing were Dan Stones and Bret Matheson with eight points each. Leading scorer for Tabiona was Collins with 25 and Casper with 20. Junior Varsity In the JV game Mike Jones led the way with 24 points as the Rams outpointed Tabiona in three of the four quarters. Also indouble " figures was Jory Turner ' with 12. The Parowan JV's doubled their hosts in the first quarter, 14-7, but found themselves trailing by two 25-27 at halftime. In the third period Turner hit for 10 and Jones for 8 to put the Rams back up on top and they continued . to dominate the game for the victory. Other members of the Ram Squad in the scoring column included: Doug Hermensen, 4; Scott Thornton, 2; Brook Bentley, 3; Jim Robinson, 2; Robbie Stevens, Eric Adams and Wade Webb, 4 each; Mike Webb, 1 and Mitch Pendleton Pen-dleton 2. |
