Show M Letters KPbL ToThe uR Editor Editor: We would like to bring a small thing to the attention of the general public. The small thing is often a matter of inches, the difference between being able to use public facilities and not being able to use them. At the new Canyon Park and also at the City Airport, there are cement aprons all around. There are not however, graduated walkways where an individual in a wheelchair can use the facilities without help. It is the desire of most handicapped people to be self sufficient. This would be more possible with insight into construction. We would ask that the present difficulties be rectified and that all future construction, would take into consideration for the handicapped. We are aware that most government govern-ment projects now require this on all its construction and all things for general public use. We feel the park and airport fall into this cateogry. We would be most appreciative of anything that could be done in our behalf. Sincerely, Southern Utah Handicapped Association |
