Show Jury renders "Not Guilty" verdict On Monday, February 5, 1979, Jeffrey Wayne Loker . appeared before the District Court in Parowan, Utah, for arraignment on charges of Injuring a Public Jail, a third-degree felony. Loker entered a plea of not guilty. The charge stemmed from an incident occuring November 4, 1978, in the Iron County Jail in which a toilet at the facility was damaged. At the Jury Trial held . Wed. Feb. 7, 1979, Defendant Loker testified that he had not intended to damage the toilet, but was merely using it as a step hy which to reach an upper bunk bed. The Jury. niter deliberating for half hour, returned a verdict of "not guilty." On May 16, 1866 a five cent coin first appeared in America. Ameri-ca. It was known as a "nickel." |
