Show 4 Five CHS Matmen head forState Meet Lambeth had four matches winning three and losing one. Lambeth lost his opening match to Carl Black of Timpview by a pin. He came back however, and defeated Lonnie Gubler of Dixie by a pin. Pinned Dopug Aitken of Payson and captured third place with a 3-1 victory over Carl Black of Timpview. Chris Nelson finished fifth and also had four matches. He won by a pin over Kelly Brown of American Fork in the first round action. In his second match he lost a 13-0 decision to Kendall Wilson of Spanish Fork. In his third match he also lost a 8-4 decision to Chris Hughes of Timpview and in his final match defeated Carl Kuhn of Dixie 17 to 4. For Miller at 185 picked up sixth place with one win and three losses. His victory came in the second match when he defeated Kimball Moore of Dixie by a pin. He lost by pins to Brett Burr of Timpview, Tony Nielson of Payson and Greg Doyle of American Fork. , The Redmen did not enter participants at the 98 and 108. At 132 Neal Whitney lost two matches at 138 Scott Bulloch lost his match and was out of the competition as was Dirk Lopour at 165. J 1 i imi 1 ''" "''""''"""""''''l '; ' .""''M""'''M'M''jii1iiii i Cedar High School Red-men Red-men wrestling squad will send five men to the State Class 3A tournament to be held at the University of Utah Thursday, Friday and Saturday, after placing seventh in Region Six competition this past week. Two of the Redmen picked up second place finishes in the Region Six tournament held at Provo this past weekend. Stan Torgerson at 128 and Dave Lopour at 155, both captured second place finishes. Mike Lambert at 119 finished in third place while Nelson at 105, finished fifth and Bob Miller at 185 finished six and won the right to advance to state. Pleasant Grove, a perennial power house captured the Region Six wrestling crown with a total of 186 points. In second place was Payson with 134M points. Third place went to Springville with 109 M,; fourth to Spanish Fork with 108"2; fifth to Timpview with 87"2; sixth to Provo with 76 and the Redmen were seventh with 66 points. Behind the Redmen were American Fork with 54M, points and Dixie with 53 points. In picking up his second place finish Torgerson opened the competition with a pin over Mike Storm of Provo. In his second round match he decisioned Kipp Robins of Timpview by a score of 9 to 6. Torgerson was pitted against Fred Allan of Spanish Fork in the Championship match and lost by a a pin for second place honors. Dave Lopour lost a close 6-4 6-4 match to Dave Swenson of Pleasant Grove in the championship match. To gain the championship round he had defeated Danny Smith of Payson 12-8 and scored a pin over Dean Kitchen of American Fork. In placing third Mike ON TO STATE.
