Show AARP sets meet 2o organize chapter in area The next organizational neeting of the AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF RETIRED PERSONS will be held May 18. The Cedar City Library has been made available and the meeting will take place at 3 p.m. This meeting is the second in a series of 4 for the purpose pur-pose of organizing a Chapter, which is an integral unit of the National. At this meeting pro-tem officers will be elected and a signing of the application applica-tion for membership by those in attendance. These people will be considered the charter members of the hew chapter. The AARP is the largest 1 body of organized retired people peo-ple in the United States. Its basic philosophy is to give purpose, Independence and dignity to the lives of those Who are 55 years of age or older, whether retired or not. A great many services are available to members and especially es-pecially where there is a local chapter of the national. State Director df the AARP, W..-. Eugene Reid of Ogden, Utah will be present to give assistance and information. Mabel Roper is acting as volunteer vol-unteer " contact person.
