Show Amateur Art Show scheduled to open Tuesday The Annual Cedar City Amateur Am-ateur Art Exhibit will open Tuesday, May 9, and run through May 13th, at the Cedar Ce-dar City South Elementary all purpose room. The annual event will include in-clude works of amateur artisis from throughout the southern Utah area. Medias represented at the amateur affair will be Oils, Water Colors, Drawings, Prints, Ceramics, and Sculpture. Sculp-ture. A reminder is given by the Amateur comimttee, that materials ma-terials for the show must be delivered to the South Elementary Elem-entary by Saturday, May 6. Hanging of the pictures will be done Monday. It was also stressed by the committee that invitations were sent to many, inviting them to enter their works, but that an invitation was not necessary to participate. Judging for the Amateur Art Exhibit will be done by Gaylen Worthington, Elbert Porter, and Larry Odonnell. Cash prizes and certificates will be awarded in three divisions: div-isions: Adult, College, and High School, with special a-wards a-wards to be given in Jr. High and Elementary divisions. Committee members working work-ing on the Amateur event include ArrNita Webb, chairman, chair-man, LaPriel Smith, Randy Holm, Dick Dover, Gloria Fen-ton, Fen-ton, Leslie Woolf, Steve Rollo, Janet Howard, Janice Esplii, and Karen Hamilton. With the success of the Professional Pro-fessional Art Exhibit, Which ends May 6, it is anticipated that the Amateur exhibit will draw much interest. |
