V,CH f.I WILLARD PERKINS DUARD BLACK Two .Starts gain Eagle rank Duane Black accorded honors at Cedar West Stake meet Duane Black, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Black and a member of Scout Troop 379 was the recipient of the Eagle Scout Award at the Court of Honor held by the Cedar West Stake Sunday evening. Presentation of the award was made by Vernile Terry a member of the Cedar Breaks District committee, Boy Scouts of America. In addition two advancements advance-ments were made to the rank of Life, two to the rank of Star and six received their first and second class awards. Presentation was also made of 61 merit badges to scouts within the Stake. Life awards were presented to Kerrie Twitchell, Troop 379 and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernell Twitchell and to Lindy Davis. Presentation was made by Dee Smith. Receiving their star awards were Alan Moss and Ashley Averett. Moss is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Dan Moss and Averett Aver-ett is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Averett. Both are members mem-bers of Troop 379 and the presentation pre-sentation was made by Al Kolotzl. Otto Fife, member of the Cedar Breaks District staff was presented a special award at the Court of Honor. It was a first issue patch for 50 mile hiking and was in recognition of his outstanding service in hiking and the scouting program. pro-gram. Also receiving 50 mile patches pat-ches were 15 members of Troop 346 with Dan Dix as the scoutmaster. |
