Show Cedar OES Chapter honors members Cedar Chapter No. 20, Order of the Eastern Star, met in regular session Monday evening, even-ing, June 9, at the Masonic Temple. Mrs. Geraldine Gooding, Good-ing, worthy matron, presided, assisted by Gustin Gooding, worthy patron. A short business meeting was conducted at which time the Chapter voted to dispense with meetings during the months of July and August. Sijcjal activities will contiuue, . including the' Robert Morris Day picnic to he held August ' 3rd. - Mrs. Jennie Peters, Grand Martha, and Mrs. Candace Ewing, past matron, and hold- ! er of the initial 50 year membership mem-bership in the Chapter, were honored by the worthy matron. Each was presented with a lovely orchid corsage. Mrs. Belle Lewis, Van Nuys, California, Cali-fornia, a 50 year member in her home Chapter, was also recognized. Mrs. Lewis is the mother of Mrs. Marie Endsley. Gaye Thurston, on behalf of the officers and members who attended Grand Visitations to Price, Moab, and Green River, gave a descriptive version of the work exemplified In each of the southeastern Chapters. Mrs. Peters gave a brief resume' re-sume' of her many visitations with the Grand Family during the past months. Mr. and Mrs. William Snow- man, Corona Chapter No. 20, San Louis Obispo, Calif., were introduced and welcomed by the worthy matron. Mrs. S.now-man S.now-man is a sister of Mrs. Ewing. The Snowmans are vacationing vacation-ing in Utah. Following the meeting, refreshments re-freshments were served by Roy and Velma Lundgren. Dining tables were centered with arrangements ar-rangements of pink and white peonies, accented with matching match-ing candleabra. |
