Show Co. Public Health nurse attending philosophy course Delia Garfield, Iron County Public Health nurse, is one of 55 selected nurses from 11 ' Western and Midwestern I States participating this week in a two week intensive study of the philosophy and respon- , sibilities of school nursing being be-ing held on the campus of the University of Colorado at I Boulder, Colo. I Under guidance of a faculty of nurses, physicians, a judge educators and social workers, the nurses will be discussing such subjects as what it means to be a child with a health problem, communication communica-tion and interpersonal relations, rela-tions, family life education, health education theory, battered bat-tered and deprived children, learning disabilities, deli-quency, deli-quency, unwed teenage parents, par-ents, handicapped children and nursing manpower to meet growing needs in the years ahead. The two-week session opened open-ed Monday, June 16. One session ses-sion on June 23, the registrants will hear a multidiscipline panel in a candid discussion of how allied professionals view the school nurse and her duties. |
