Show Bank of Iron Co., Dave's American win baseball games Play in the Parowan-Para-gonah -Summit Little League baseball program got under way this week with games on Monday and Tuesday on the little league park. Games began be-gan at 5:30 p. m. Opening league play Monday Mon-day were the Bank of Iron County and Lions-Paragonah nines with the Bank team winning the game by a close 7 to 6 score. Bruce Topham was credited with the win for Scott Potter's Bank team and David Lamoreaux was charged charg-ed with the loss by Clark Lamoreaux s and Lester Williams' Wil-liams' Paragonah - Lions. On Tuesday evening Dave's American and Burton's "66" nines met with the former team managed by Robbie Robb winning a 11 to 9 decision over Wayne Stubbs' "66" team. Steve Winn got credit for the win for Dave's American with Karl Bentley taking the loss for Burton's. Bentley was the long hitter of tne game, clouting the ball for a ground rules triple and went all the way around on the delayed throw in. 1 Play will continue on Thursday Thurs-day and Friday evenings with the Lions - Paragonah team meeting Dave's American on Thursday, and Burton's "66" taking on the Bank of Iron County on Friday evening. The Lions - Paragonah nine is made up of Parowan and Paragonah boys and the Bank of Iron County is made up of Parowan and Summit boys on almost a 50-50 basis. Next week, we understand the schedule drops to three games for the Little League teams, to leave an open time for play in the Senior Little League. |
