Adams is a son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Watson Adams, and Michelle is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Decker. Both have been outstanding students at the local high school. They will ride on a special float in the parade and will be on the program in the public meeting. meet-ing. Slowly and quite painfully during the next three years different committees commit-tees worked long and hard to give new life to this important holiday, Mrs. Taylor states, and adds: "Four years ago the parade had four units in it. last year it had 17. This year we are trying for 25. To tlo this we will need the help of everyone in town and appeal espixrially to clubs, church auxiliaries and neighborhood groups for support." Prizes offered for floats this year will be $25, $15 and $10 for first, second and third places, and those entering i'loats are asked to stress patriotism. pa-triotism. They were on their way home from a two-week vacation vaca-tion in Mexico. Kenneth, a native of Parowan is now a member of the Salt. Lake City police force. in a junior division of the parade and all youngsters in the community are urged to decorate bikes, trikes, wagons wag-ons or just costume. Prizes of $5, $4 and $3 will be given to winners in this division. Outline of Day's Evants A tentative schedule of events for the days is as follows: fol-lows: Daybreak salute. Parade 9:30 a. m. Sports to be held immediately immedi-ately following the parade on the lawn west of the library, with Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Caldwell in charge. During the sports a variety of concession stands will also open at the city park. A public patriotic meeting will be held at 11:30 in the Third Ward chapel with Legion Leg-ion Post No. 20 in charge. The Rod Hill Wranglers will take over the activities for the afternoon with its race meet, starting at 2 at the city I race track. The day will end with a dance in the evening. t |
