White for Utah Shakespearean B'estival. Festival Guild starts membership drive The Utah Shakespearean Festival Guild has opened its books for the enrollment of members for 1969. Membership In the Guild is accomplished by a donation of $5.00 per person . $10.00 for husband and wife. All funds collected go to the Festival, as the costs of the Guild arc paid by the officers. Donations are tax deductible. Each year for the past three years, the enrollment in the Guild has grown - from only 78 members in 1965 to 192 members in 1968. This substantial sub-stantial growth has not only been a financial help to the Festival, but in addition this demonstration of strong local support of the Festival influences influ-ences major contributors -foundations, corporations, individual in-dividual benefactors and government gov-ernment funds - to support the Festival. This vcar is a crucial year lur the Festival. Whale major contributions have been increasing, in-creasing, so have the costs of production and promotion. As a result the Festival is still running at a loss. This year an all-out effort is being made to start reducing reduc-ing the deficit. The budget has been pared and is a minimal budget consistent with the quality of production which must be maintained. "Now we must have the contributions to effect the result desired," a spokesman stated. "You can help by joining the Guild," it was emphasized. Just send your check, made out to the Utah Shakespearean Shakespear-ean Festival Guild, to Gustin O. Gooding, Box 616, Cedar City, Utah. Guild members will be invited in-vited to a reception to meet and visit with the members of the cast and distinguished guests. And members names will be listed in the Festival Program for all to see the wide local support tor Uie Festival. |
