Show Motocyle Accident Takes Life 01 Kenneth Miller Decker. 23 i who witnessed the accident. Mr. Decker was born April 2, 1914 in San Diego, Calif., a son of Veron Ward and June Miller Mil-ler Decker. His father died several years ago and he and his mother have resided in this city since before that time. He is a graduate of Parowan Paro-wan High School and has been attending College of Southern Utah. He is a member of the Cedar City unit of the National Nation-al Guard, and has been employed em-ployed by the U. S. Forest Service during the summer for several years. He was a member of the Parowan Sec- , Kenneth Decker, 23 year old Parowan man was killed almost al-most instantly on Thursday night, when a motorcycle he was riding went out of control con-trol and hit into the guardrail guard-rail at the bridge on the south end of Parowan's Main Street. Mr. Docker was thrown for several feet after the vehicle hit the guard rail, hitting a sign post, and lived only a short time, according to those who arrived at the scene of the accident almost Immediately. Immed-iately. First on the scene were Mr. and Mrs. George Loosley and Mrs. Shirley Clark, who was at the Loosley home, and ond Ward of the LDS Church. Surviving him are his mother, moth-er, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Taylor Miller, all of Parowan and Mr. and Mrs. T. Alvln Decker, Murray. Funeral services were held for him on Monday noon in the Third Ward, chapel with Bishop Bruce Matheson of the First Ward conducting. The speakers were Thales Brown and G. Morris Rowley with closing remarks by the bishop. The prayer at the home was offered by James M. Miller. The invocation was by Wood row N. Decker, the benediction was by Arland R. Langford and the grave in the Parowan City cemetery was dedicated by R. Taylor Miller, grandfather of the deceased. Mae Boyter was at the organ or-gan for the prelude and post-lude post-lude music, and musical numbers num-bers were as follows: the song, "Abide with Me, Fast Falls the Eventide" by a double mixed quartet, consisting of Karl and Alice Mitchell, Harold Har-old and Bertrude Mitchell, Berta Dalton, Frankie Lou Bentley, Verl Taylor and Robert Rob-ert Potter, with Itha Morten-at Morten-at the piano; a vocal duet, "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked" by Elna Stubbs and Mary Dawn Dalton, and the song "Beyond the Sunset", by Rula Orton and Mary Dawn Dalton. Pallbearers were Robin Graff, Mike Ward, Dwight Stones, Bill Knight, David Orton, Jerry Jer-ry D. Robinson, David Jenson and Scott Holyoak. Flowers were in charge of Glennis S. Orton. |
