Show Charter Presentation Made to Southern Utah Credit Union More than 90 business and civic leaders, state legislators and legislators-elect, plus credit union officials, attended charter presentation pre-sentation ceremonies for the newly new-ly formed Southern Utah Credit Union Chapter Saturday, Dec. 3, in Cedar City, according to Irving Irv-ing L. Christensen, president, Utah Credit Union League. Mr. Christensen said that the new chapter will serve 12 credit unions in Beaver, Millard, Washington, Wash-ington, Iron, Kane, Sevier, Garfield, Gar-field, Wayne and Piute Counties. These 12 credit unions will serve more than 4,000 members in the nine-county area. The new chapter chap-ter will give this growing area of the state a voice in member-education member-education programs and League management, Mr. Christensen stated. Utah credit unions now have over 170,000 members, and this total is expected to reach 179,000 by the end of the year. Total Utah credit union assets arc expected ex-pected to top 1 12 million dollars dol-lars by this time as contrasted to 120 million dollars for the same period in 19G5. |
