Show Rotarians Hear Iron County Record Editor Klien Rollo, Editor of the Iron County Record, was guest speaker speak-er at the regular meeting of the Cedar City Rotary Club which was under the supervision of Eugene Holman, Bulletin Committee. Com-mittee. The Rotary members enjoyed en-joyed music of two vocal groups. A folk singing group sang their own compositon "Two by Two," directed by Eileen Seegmiller. The other group composed of Mrs. Isom, Mrs. Holman, Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Miller, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Alder also gave beautiful renditions of the songs, "Shadow of your Smile and "Hey Little Girl." Mr. Rollo related the hisotry of the operation of the Iron County Record. Rotary members were amused at the anticdotes quoted by Mr. Rollo of misprints that are picked up by the public. The history of the Iron County Record dates back to 1889. The paper was first owned by a Mr. Higgins, then Joseph T. and Charles Wilkernson, with Mr. Rollo's grandfather, Alex H. Rollo, Rol-lo, later buying into the business. busi-ness. Later he withdrew and established es-tablished the Observer. After sev-el sev-el years the Record and Observer Obser-ver were consolidated and Mr. Rollo established the Parowan Times. Joe Whitmore and Mr. Rollo purchased the Record and later Alex Rollo and sons purchased pur-chased the Record, and in 1915 the present owners, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Rollo purchsed the paper. pap-er.
