Show WiKord Lewder, 50, Former Resident, Dies at Springville Wilford Lowder, 50, a former resident of Parowan, but who has been a resident of Spring-ville Spring-ville for the past 20 years, died at his home there on Nov. 30 of a heart attack, following almost a year of ill health. Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed Friday, at 2 p. m. in a Springville Spring-ville Mortuary and burial took place in the Evergreen Cemetery there following military rites conducted by American Legion Post 28, of Springville of which he was a member. Traveling from this area to attend at-tend the services were Mrs. and Mrs. Bert Felstead and Bernarr and' Lloyd Stubbs of this city, and Mrs.. Verda Slack of Cedar City. They were joined here for the trip to Springville by Mrs. Emma Alder of Chula Vista, Cal. Wilford was born In Parowan Nov. 20, 1916 to Jesse F. and Mary Alice Bentley Lowder and resided here, until after World War II when he with other members mem-bers of his family, moved to the Springville area. He served in World War II, spending three years in the Burma-India war theatre. He has been employed at the Geneva Steel plant for the past 17 years. t He married Blanche Caldwell Poulson Sept. 1, 1946 at Provo. He was a member of the LDS Church. I Survivors inciuae his widow, a daughter, Anna, Springville; stepsons Eugene and Darrell Poulson; and the following brothers bro-thers and sisters: Mrs. Vern (Verda) (Ver-da) Slack, Cedar City; Mrs. !Bert (Ella) Felstead, Parowan; ! Mrs. Emma Alder, Chula Vista, Calif.; Frank, Delta; Amasa and Glen, Springville; Karl, Hatch; Boyd, Orem; and Mrs. Max (La-ree) (La-ree) Burrows, Fredonia, Arizona. The brothers took part in the funeral services. Boyd gave the family prayer, Carl offered the invocation, in-vocation, Glen the benediction and Bert Felstead dedicated the grave. Five brothers and a stepson step-son were pallbearers. |
