Show College of Southern Utah Broncos Take Track and Field Meet Crown The College of Southern Utah staged the first annual CSU Invitational In-vitational Track and Field meet on the local campus Saturday afternoon and In a close contest won a four-way meet in competition com-petition with Dixie College of St. George, Snow College of Ephrlam and Carbon College of Price. The CSU Broncos' picked up four first places, paced by Kenneth Ken-neth Benson with two of the four, but relied on seconds and thirds to compile a total of 52 points to edge out Dixie College for first place. Dixie scored 47 points followed by Snow with 24 and Carbon with 20. Dixie scored six firs't places with speedster Kenneth Christ-ensen Christ-ensen of Dixie furnishing the big attraction of the afternoon. He sped through the century dash in :09.8 seconds and captured the 220 yard dash in :22.1 seconds. Kenneth Benson of CSU again was the big gun for the Broncos, taking two first places and adding add-ing to his shot put record with an impressive 46 foot 2Vi inches. He also took first place in the discus throw. A third first place for CSU was won by Bob Hill who cleared the 120 yard high hurdles in :16.2 seconds. Don L. Rasmussen captured the . fourth first place of the afternoon for the Broncos in the 440 yard dash. His time was :54.1 seconds. Final team standings hinged on the final event of the afternoon after-noon with the Broncos and the Rebels fighting right down the line for the honors'. Before the one mile relay got underway the Broncos held a one point lead over the Rebels', 47 to 46. But with Roval Thornton, Hill. Bob Vest and Rasmussen taking first place in the event it boosted the Broncos point total of 52. Dixie placed third and added a single point in garnering second place in the meet. Other dual winners of the meet were Stark of Carbon who took first in the 880 yard run and the mile; and Hafen of Dixie who took first in the broad Jump and the polevaut.
