Show Broncs Finish Season With 5 to 1 Loss at St. George The College of Southern Utah baseball team wound up the sea son's play Wednesday evening at St. George with the Dixie Rebels Re-bels handing them a 5 to 1 beating beat-ing in a wild game. Both teams were credited with seven hits and both teams' were also charged with committing seven errors. Burke Johnson was on the mound for the first eight innings for the Broncos and he suffered his first loss after capturing two of the three wins for Coach Cleo Petty this year. Roger Ditlevson came on to finish in the ninth. The single run for the Broncos came in the seventh frame. Dixie took an early Jead, scoring one run in the first and took advantage advan-tage of two hits and an overthrow over-throw to chalk up three runs in the third. They added their fifth run in the seventh. Dixie with a four won and one loss record is presently leading the southern division of the In-termountaln In-termountaln Collegiate Athletic Conference and from all indications indica-tions will represent the division at the I C A C playoffs in Ogden Saturday, May 12. |
