Show iRichard Heyvrood Shows Form in Track Meet Richard Heywood, outstanding track star of the Cedar City High School Class B state championship champion-ship team of last season, has this season furthered his laurels laur-els on the cinders of the Brig.-:., ham Young University. A freshman at the Y, Heywood has turned in some commendable commenda-ble marks and is holding his own on a squad that is rated the best in the history of the Skyline Sky-line Conference. In a recent dual meet between the Cougars of B Y U and Montana Mon-tana University, which the thin-clads thin-clads of the BYU win 92-39, Hey-wood Hey-wood placed first in the 220 yard dash, took second in the century cen-tury run and was on the winning win-ning mile relay team. In the 220 yard dash Heywood1 flashed the distance In the outstanding out-standing time of 21.5 seconds. As a member of the relay team he helped set of mark of 3:18 minutes min-utes which was more than a second sec-ond faster than the Skyline conference con-ference mark. He placed second In the 100 behind Harry Anderson, Ander-son, also of the BYU. Richard is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Heywood of Cedar City. |
