Ruth Marie Reeve Finds Excitement In Special Services A local girl, who elected to be a globe-trotter, Is finding it fun as well as a Job. She is Ruth Marie Hunter Reeve, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Hunter, Hun-ter, Cedar City, who went to Germany Ger-many last August with the Army Special Services as a civilian rec-reation rec-reation worker. Ruth Marie Is stationej with the Special Services at the Radio City Service Club, Bremerhaven, Germany. In the accompanying picture Mrs. Reeves is shown visiting Bremerhaven's fishing port, largest In Europe which was built in 1891. While doing Interesting work Huth Marie still has ample time to visit the local town as well as plan vacations to other sections -f Germany and to the many dlf-ferent dlf-ferent countries of Europe. Her work comprises planning and directing a continuing variety var-iety of off-duty recreation activities acti-vities for the servicemen. These activities Include dances, sight, seeing tours, talent shows, contests con-tests , hobbies and discussion groups, and parties for special occasions. Asked what she thinks of all this, Ruth Marie stated, "My work with A. A. S. has made available to me new channels of Interest, new faces, new Ian- guages, new culture, a truly broadening and exciting experience experi-ence for anyone." The special services is a field that is open to single women under un-der 23 years of age, it was explained ex-plained by Miss Nita Powers, special representative who was recently in Utah.
