Show Snow Measurements Fall Below Four Year Average Storms In the Cedar City watershed wa-tershed areas have not kept pace with previous years, according to measurements taken by the Soil Conservation Service Wednesday. Wed-nesday. Snow and water measurements at Cedar Breaks, Midway, and Urie Flat all show both snow and water content below compiled figures back to 1954. The only exception was at Webster Flat where, the water content was slichtly higher than in 1956. Figures for Cedar Breaks indicated indi-cated 43.9 Inches of snow with 14.1 inches of water. In 1956 snow depth at the same time of year was 63 inches with 20.6 Inches of water, 16.5 inches more than this season. In 1954 water content con-tent was 17.4. Midway had 54.4 Inches cf water wa-ter with 16.9 water content. In 1956 snow depth was 63 with 206 Inches of water content In 1955 was 19.4 and In 1954 it was 18.9. The snow pile was measured at 41.6 Inches at Webster's Flat with 14 Inches of water. In 1956 snow depth was 46 Inches but water content was at 13.7. In 1955 water measurements indicate 14.4 Inches. Urie Flat had 11.5 inches of snow and 4.9 water. In 1956 it was 19 and 5 respectively and In 1955 water content was at 8.3. |
