Show LETTERS TO THE EDITOR ' ;'J Iar Sir: I With mixed feelings of aston- Xl Ishment, hilarity, consternation nI and bewilderment I have noted v 1 a. mild form of hysteria that has I J obviously wrapped its grisly ten- ' J .3 taele around the teen-age set of , ; J this city. V.'j Racing incessantly, and defin- Iteljr aimlessly, up and down, around and . about, along the ' main artery of travel in the city tor God-knows-how-long every night is an orderly, even organized procession of teen age operated vel.rcles. That presents the source of my dilemma. What, pray enlighten, motl-xates motl-xates this Inane action? What , unseen force impels such a ludicrous lu-dicrous pastime? The only plausible answer would seem a mutual determination determina-tion lo wear away the pavement, which would be a painfully tedious te-dious process, and in such a crisis, cri-sis, would only be replaced. Axe there not any more civil-bed civil-bed methods of distraction than this maudlin display of wasted vitality? Does that which drives people to release their energies on this sort of diversion stem from lack of more wholesome activities; ac-tivities; could it bo a symptom of disordered personalities; or have I not yet emerged from the Stone Age? Any offer of explanation will Dear Editor: As I was listening to the Interesting In-teresting and inspiring radio program the other morning about the "Man Without a Country," Mr. Nolan, I was hoping every school boy and girl was listening listen-ing too, and realized the wonderful wonder-ful privilege we have of living In and enjoying the blessings that are ours in being here in this beautiful land of the free, and could live up, to the advice of Mr. Nolan that we never do anything that would be contrary to having hav-ing the deepest respect for our country. , Being where I can see the beautiful beau-tiful picture' thru my window everyday, of the stars and stripes waving over the Federal building build-ing with the blue sky flecked with fluffy clouds for a background back-ground is an inspiration and a reminder of what a terrible pun. ishment it must have been for Mr. Nolan to be deprived of ever seeing It again and what a noble no-ble character he displayed in be-In be-In loyal to his country regardless of his Isolation.
